Macy has played soccer since she was 4 years old. She has always loved the goalkeeper position and played for Ohio Premier ECNL while growing up in Hilliard, Ohio, where she committed to play at the University of Iowa in high school.
While playing for the University of Iowa, she quickly gained the starting spot and held it throughout her time there. She helped the Iowa Hawkeyes win two B1G tournament championships in her freshman and senior years. She holds many records for the University of Iowa, including the most wins by a goalkeeper and the most shutouts. She was also named the most outstanding defensive player in the tournament in 2020 and was awarded first-team all north region honors in 2023.
After graduating with a Master’s degree in Sport and Recreation Management, she was invited to attend the Seattle Reign’s preseason camp in the NWSL. Later, securing a contract with FH in the top division in Iceland. While playing professional soccer in Iceland, she helped her team to finish 2nd in the league and qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
She started coaching in 2023 as an assistant JV/varsity coach for Iowa West High School, where she worked with the goalkeepers and obtained a Coaching Authorization in the state of Iowa. During this time, she was also working as the goalkeeper coach at Total Elite Soccer Training in North Liberty, Iowa. There, she trained both boys and girls ages 6-18 in goalkeeper-specific movements, tactics, and techniques in individual and group settings. Macy has sought to continue her career in soccer as the newly appointed Director of Operations for the women’s soccer team at the University of Michigan.
