Parent Guide
At the link below is a digital version of the Parent Guide that was part of the Welcome packet at tryouts. If you haven’t reviewed it already, we invite you to take a few minutes to read through it at the link below. Learn about Liverpool Football Club, LFC International Academy, our values, and the benefits of being part of this great club.
Season Registration
Season Registration includes the following steps:
- Club Registration (on SportsEngine) where you pay your club fee, either by making a deposit or paying in full. This also sets you up to receive emails from the club, plus manage team schedules, communications, and attendance (once players register, then teams are set up, which is expected to be completed by mid-July).
- League Documents (on Sports Forms) where you upload player’s proof of age (eg., birth certificate or passport) and photo, which allows your child to be rostered to play games.
If you have completed these steps, then your child is all set. If you receive an email from our Administrator stating that you need to complete your registration, it likely means you have not completed the League Documents.
NOTE: International Clearance may be required if your child was born outside the US. See Season Registration page for more information.
Click on link to go to the Season Registration page.
Thank you for your prompt attention in completing the Season Registration!
SportsEngine
SportsEngine’s team management features make it easier for families, athletes, and coaches to stay connected.
Teams are set-up in SportsEngine. Parents and guardians can view player’s schedule, communicate with the team, and let the coach know if player can make upcoming events, including games and practices.
Be sure to download the SportsEngine mobile app from one of the following links: Apple or Android
We recommend you also reference the Mobile Start-Up Guide to help get you set up.
Below are a few of the SportsEngine features most commonly used by parents.
Text Notifications
It’s important to stay up to date with the latest communication, so you can now receive text notifications. To set up your account so you can receive texts, check out this short help article which will guide you through the process.
RSVP
Now you have a way to let your coach know if your athlete can make it to events including games and practices. This can be done through the mobile app, through an email, or through your SportsEngine user dashboard. Learn how to RSVP here.
Add a Guardian
Family members of an athlete can be added as “Guardians” to view the team schedule, RSVP to games and events, message team members, and edit the athlete’s profile. Click here for instructions.
Uniforms
All registered players should have received their Soccer.com email at this point. Order uniforms as soon as possible to receive items in time for pre-season training and tournaments.
Soccer.com has put together a helpful guide called the “Playbook” to explain the ordering process, sizing, and benefits of being a club partner.
Fall Training & Schedules
Training for Central teams will begin the week of August 12. The training schedule is available on the website at link below and will also be sent out by either your coach or team manager.
Regarding scheduling for league games or tournaments, fall league schedules should be available in August–the leagues control when coaches can begin scheduling games (or in some instances, the league will schedule the games). Typically tournament schedules are available around 7-10 days before the event.
Central Pre-Season Camp
2018-2013 Players are invited to Pre-Season Camp August 5-8. LFC Central hosts an annual Kick-off Camp the week before regular season training starts. Camp is optional and exclusive to LFC Central 2018-2013 boys and girls teams. This is an opportunity to work on technical skills, master skill challenges, and bond with teammates throughout the week.
Registration is open now through Thursday, August 1: www.redsevents.com/central-kick-off-camp
NEW Mental Performance Training Partnership
We are thrilled to announce a partnership with LFC First Team Sport Psychologist Lee Richardson and his company Aim-For to bring exceptional mental performance resources to our soccer family.
Lee has extensive experience in English professional football as a player and manager and has worked with LFC since 2019. He will lead performance initiatives for our coaches, players and parents.
Our coaches and families will benefit from:
- “4Pillars Track” & The Soccer Mindset Course: Players will be taught essential skills in mental performance management.
- Coaches’ Development: Enrollment in the Coach Mindset program.
- Webinars: Hosted by Lee Richardson for parents, players, and coaches.
- The Safety Net Mental Health & Well-Being Platform: Players gain access to this platform used by the PFA, FA, EPL & EFL to help navigate the rigors of the game.
Coach Alissa “Roo” Niazy (Masters in Sports Psychology) will be the direct report here in Michigan to work with players through workshops.
More details to come later this fall.
LFC eAcademy
