Danny began his football journey in Blackpool, England, playing for Blackpool Rangers and representing Lancashire County at the county level. His talent earned him trials with several professional clubs, including Blackpool FC, Burnley FC, Oldham Athletic FC, Bury FC, Manchester City FC, and Manchester United FC, before ultimately joining the Liverpool FC Academy at the age of 12. He later enjoyed a spell with Fleetwood Town FC, then a non-league club that has since risen through the English football pyramid and currently competes in the English Football League.
Danny transitioned into coaching in 2005, joining TNT Dynamite Soccer Club as Technical Director, a position he held until 2011. He then moved to Force Football Club, working alongside club owner Andy Wagstaff to help develop and grow one of Michigan’s premier youth soccer organizations.
As Director of Coaching for the club’s USL Youth program, Danny has overseen numerous successful teams and helped establish a culture of excellence. Under his leadership, the club captured Super Y League National Championships with the U17 Boys (2015), U12 Girls (2016), U15 Girls (2018 and 2019), U16/17 Girls (2021), and U17/19 Girls (2024).
In the fall of 2019, Danny guided the Liverpool FC Michigan 2006 Girls Academy team to the program’s first-ever MSYSA State Cup Championship on the girls’ side, marking a significant milestone in club history.
Danny’s success has also extended to the high school game. In August 2019, he was named Head Coach of Brother Rice High School Boys Soccer. In just his third season, he led the Warriors to a District Championship, Regional Championship, and an appearance in the MHSAA State Finals. The achievement marked the school’s first district title, regional title, and state final appearance in 12 years. Following the season, he was recognized as District Coach of the Year, Regional Coach of the Year, and earned All-State Second Team Coach honors.
In September 2023, Danny was appointed Head Coach of Marian High School Girls Soccer, one of Michigan’s most storied girls soccer programs. In his first season, he led Marian to a District Championship, Regional Championship, and an appearance in the MHSAA State Finals. The following year, in 2025, he guided the Mustangs to a Catholic High School League Championship and was named CHSL Coach of the Year. In 2026, Marian repeated as CHSL Champions while also capturing District and Regional Championships and making a second consecutive appearance in the MHSAA State Finals. Danny was recognized with District, Regional, and All-State Second Team Coach honors in both 2025 and 2026.
Having spent more than 14 years with Force Football Club and Liverpool FC Michigan, Danny was promoted to Director of Coaching for the Ann Arbor location in March 2024. In this role, he oversees player development, coaching education, and the strategic growth of the club while maintaining a strong commitment to developing both players and people.
Danny resides in Walled Lake, Michigan, with his wife, Jana, and their three sons, Ryan, Cameron, and Harry.
