Liverpool FC Michigan is making preparations for its ninth season competing in the Super Y League, the country's longest-running national youth league with approximately 600 teams and 10,500 players competing around the nation.
“We have a fantastic staff returning with some excellent new additions for the 2019 Super Y summer season," said Daniel Price, Director of Super Y for Liverpool FC Michigan.
"Our program continues to provide the platform of development in the summer months that is unmatched anywhere across the state," continued Price. During the six-week summer season, there are two training sessions per week, 8-10 games against regional competition, and a minimum of two travel weekends to locations such as Toledo and Kalamazoo.
In addition to the regular season, teams U13 and above may qualify for National Finals every December in Florida.
"We have had one or two teams go to Nationals every year, but we are very excited to have four of our 2018 teams heading there in just over a month to compete for a National title," said Price.
The program is an opportunity for players to continue their development during the summer months.
"What we have seen is tremendous growth of our players' development over the summer which serves them well leading into the Fall season. We look forward to seeing many players at tryouts that will hopefully add to the 370 players that took part in 2018.”
