We are pleased to announce that Justin Makar will be joining our staff as the Ann Arbor Site Director beginning in the 2020-2021 season.
“Justin brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this position. He is an established college coach and a proven Director of Coaching,” said LFCIA Michigan President and Owner Andy Wagstaff. “He is well connected in the soccer community and well respected too. Justin has a reputation for treating people well and putting players first, and his values align well with our club and Liverpool FC.”
Justin had a very successful collegiate career playing at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania. Since 2007, he has coached both youth club soccer and collegiate soccer in PA and NJ, eventually moving to Michigan and joining the University of Michigan Men’s Soccer Program in 2014. He is currently their Director of Soccer Operations. Justin has also coached for the Dexter-based Michigan Thunder FC for the past five years and is their current Director of Coaching.
Chaka Daley, Head Coach of University of Michigan Men's Soccer Program, commented that Justin is the ideal choice for the position at the Ann Arbor site. “He will bring personality, professionalism, and has experience from various levels of soccer in this country that will positively impact every child and family in the club."
Justin looks forward to taking an active role in promoting Liverpool FC’s core values at the Ann Arbor site. “I feel very strongly that my coaching values align with “The Liverpool Way,” he said. “I am excited to build relationships with the coaches, families and players so that we continue to offer a soccer environment focused on developing players, teammates, and most importantly, human beings."
Justin lives in Dexter with his wife Joci and their young daughter Julien.
